Galaxy S25 Ultra`s screen survives a fall from 2 meters

Samsung’s latest flagship phone, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, raises the bar of durability with its new Corning Gorilla Armor 2 glass technology.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra was unveiled with an upgraded design and advanced AI features. The phone comes with a display protected by the highly durable Corning Gorilla Armor 2 glass.

Thanks to the ceramic-based new glass, the Galaxy S25 Ultra can endure falls from as high as 2.2 meters—more than twice the height the previous two generations could survive. However, it’s important to note that this durability is not covered under warranty.

Moreover, Corning and Samsung claim that this enhanced durability does not come at the expense of scratch resistance. The Armor 2 glass is said to have four times better scratch resistance compared to competing lithium-aluminosilicate-coated glasses, while maintaining similar scratch protection as the previous generation.

Since 2020, Corning has also been supplying Apple with similar ceramic-based glass, branded as Ceramic Shield by Apple.
